Horses Help Barn Bash 2015

Horses Help is a non-profit organization in Phoenix that provides therapy through the use of horses to a variety of clients.  Returning war veterans, abused children, and disabled people find success by working closely with the horses.

But the care and upkeep of horses costs money.  So each year the Horses Help people put on a benefit called the Barn Bash.  The latest Barn Bash was on the 7th of November 2015.

Entertainment was provided by the Dina Preston BandWhiskey Ranch BBQ provided the food (and it was THAT good!).

Horses Help 1 November 2014

I went to another benefit dinner for Horses Help here in Phoenix on 1 November.  Horses Help uses horses as therapy for mentally challenged and injured people.

Appearing at the benefit was Loop Rawlins.  Now he might look familiar to you if you’ve watched America’s Got Talent.  Although Loop didn’t win, he put on a great performance.  Loop, who is from Tucson, has appeared at Horses Help several times.  I had a chance to chat with him and I mentioned I didn’t think Horses Help could afford him any longer, but he said he’s pleased to do this event and it was great to see him again. Loop also had his son do some roping.

Also appearing was the Dina Preston Band, a local band that has travelled the world appearing at military bases with the USO.  They are also regulars at Horses Help.

Horses Help Benefit

Horses Help is an organization involved in helping people through therapeutic riding.

On Saturday 2 November they held a benefit to raise money.  Housing and caring for horses isn’t cheap.

To donate and/or volunteer, visit http://HorsesHelp.org

It was nice to see my PVCC colleague and friend Dina Preston-Ortiz with her band entertaining at the event!

These are a few photos from the event.  I took them with a Canon 5D Mark III and the Canon “L” 28-105mm lens without flash.

And, here’s a slideshow of photos from the event…
